Privacy policy
This policy explains what Bentertainment LLC does with your information when you use JournPath. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
Bentertainment LLC, 112 Wolf Creek Way, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, United States. We are the company behind JournPath and we are responsible for the information described here. Reach us any time at admin@bentertainment.co.
What you give us
- Your account. An email address, a display name, and an avatar you pick from a set we provide. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they pass us your email and name — and if you use Apple's private relay, we only ever see the relay address.
- Your trips. Trip names, dates, cover images, itinerary entries, and expenses, along with who is on each trip and what role they hold.
- Files you upload. Anything you attach to a trip, such as a photo of a booking confirmation.
- Messages to support. If you email us, we keep the thread so we can follow up.
What we collect on our own
Our servers log ordinary technical information when the app talks to them — the request, the time, a device attestation token, and an error trace when something breaks. We use it to keep the service running and to stop abuse, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
What other people on your trip can see
JournPath is built for groups, so some of your information is visible to the people you travel with by design. Everyone on a trip can see your display name, your avatar, and anything you add to that trip — itinerary entries, expenses, and uploaded files. Anyone holding a trip's invite link can join it and see the same. Treat an invite link like a key: share it only with people you actually want on the trip.
Leaving a trip, or being removed from one, does not erase what you already contributed to it. Expenses and itinerary entries stay so the rest of the group's records still add up.
What we don't do
We do not sell your information. We do not serve advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not read your trip content except when you ask us to look at something specific to solve a support problem.
Who handles data for us
- Google. Firebase and Google Cloud host our database, file storage, sign-in, and servers. Effectively all of your JournPath data sits on Google infrastructure.
- Apple. Handles Sign in with Apple and every purchase. Apple processes your payment; we never see your card details, only whether a purchase succeeded.
- Unsplash. Supplies the photos you choose as trip covers. Your searches reach Unsplash through our servers, so they receive the search term but not your device or identity.
These providers act on our instructions. Our servers are in the United States, so if you use JournPath from elsewhere your information is transferred and stored there.
How long we keep it
Your account and trips stay until you delete them. When you delete your account we remove your sign-in credentials and your profile immediately, and your name and avatar are stripped from every trip you were part of — you appear to the others simply as a former member. The entries themselves stay, because removing an expense split or an itinerary stop would break the records of the people you travelled with, but nothing left behind identifies you. Support email is kept for two years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to admin@bentertainment.co and we will respond within 30 days. You can delete your account yourself from inside the app — see support for the steps.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your information, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect and to have it deleted, and we will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Age
JournPath is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to admin@bentertainment.co and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below, and when the change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
